Hundreds of saved wallpapers quickly turn into an unsearchable pile. The new Collections panel fixes that by letting you group images into themed sets that stay in sync across phone and desktop.
What’s new in Collections
The redesign that began rolling out in May 2026 adds three abilities power users kept requesting.
- Drag-and-drop ordering within a collection so the perfect lock-screen image sits first.
- Public share links that work even for visitors without an account.
- Multi-select add from any grid view, cutting the busywork of one-by-one saves.
Each collection supports up to 250 wallpapers and unlimited reordering. All changes update instantly, so a friend opening your link tomorrow sees the fresh additions you made tonight.
Building your first collection
Creating a set takes less time than choosing breakfast wallpaper.
- Open the Collections tab in the sidebar and pick New Collection.
- Give it a name. Keep it short-"Soft Gradients" beats "My nice collection of gentle colors".
- Select a cover image. Either upload one or tap an item already in your favorites.
- Hit Create and you land in an empty grid ready for population.
Adding wallpapers in bulk
- From any category view press Select then tap up to 100 thumbnails before choosing Add to Collection.

- If you already keep a favourites list, open it, switch to multi-select, and funnel items straight into the new set.
Tags, download counts, and resolution notes travel with each item, so your collection remains searchable later.
Theming tips: color, mood, and resolution
A strong theme is obvious at a glance and still flexible enough to welcome new finds.
- Color harmony: limit the palette to two dominant hues. Pair lilac nebula shots with pastel abstracts rather than tossing in a neon car render.
- Mood alignment: if the aim is calm, avoid high-contrast cityscapes. The Calming category is an easy source to keep the vibe consistent.
- Resolution discipline: mixing phone-sized JPEGs with ultrawide 5K desktops breaks the flow when someone scrolls on a single device. Collect separate sets per target screen.
- Seasonal rotations: build a winter variant now, duplicate it, then swap half the images in October for an autumn edition.
For abstract color washes, mine the Abstract feed. The grid view’s quick-add button turns an eight-minute hunt into a two-minute sprint.
Sharing and collaboration features
Every collection has a Share toggle in its header. Turning it on produces a clean URL anyone can open. You control three privacy levels:
- View only: perfect for showcasing a finished set without risking edits.
- Collaborate: invited users can add or remove items. Their avatar appears next to each change, so you always know who added that surprise cyberpunk skyline.
- Off: keep work-in-progress themes private until the curation feels right.
When collaboration is enabled, activity pings appear beside the collection title. Click to reveal a timeline-useful after friends binge-add a dozen wallpapers while you were offline.
Maintaining a lean library over time
Even curated sets bloat if left unchecked. A five-minute review every fortnight keeps them sharp.
- Sort by Least viewed and cut shots nobody opens.
- Archive seasonal items rather than delete them. Archived images stay hidden but can return with one click next year.
- Rename collections when their purpose drifts. A set that began as “Blue” may evolve into “Deep Sea Textures”. The URL stays intact, so external links never break.
Quick refresh checklist
- Remove duplicates that arrived via different uploads.
- Bump the top three slots with fresh finds-first impressions matter.
- Export a backup JSON once a quarter in case you experiment wildly and want to roll back.
